Thanksgivng, Thankfulnes, Gratitude. I am blessed with:
- An intelligent, hardworking, nurturing mother.
- A father who strives to be and is a part of my life.
- A sister who is becoming a woman, but still knows how to be my sister.
- A sister who is open-minded about so many people and things.
- A brother who lets me know he's is watching out for me.
- A sister who can be calm and sensitive to the small things that make life great.
- A sister who, at times, can be a bit too vivacious ;), yet brings great happiness and laughter.
- A home that I can run to when life is dark as well as sunshiny.
- Friends who are still my friends even after all the stupid things I've done.
- Friends who can have fun and help me lighten up a bit.
- Friends who will let me do what I need to...most of the time.
- The opportunity to learn SO much. To be able to go to school and be fed (sometimes force fed) amazing knowledge that I am blessed to have because of the time I've been born into!
- The significant amount of support I have in my life.
- Sister Thomas. She brings the gospel to another level and lets me think about it in a way that has never crossed my mind.
- Brother Seastrand. His passion for the gospel communicates a completely different message than that of Sister Thomas, but his lessons have just as much intensity and truthfulness about the gospel.
- Brother Prestwich. He makes me think about reading my scriptures and praying more than any other person I've met.
- Brother Geilman. He always has something to say that makes me laugh. His love for the gospel is very real. I can feel it when I'm around him.
- Brother Reeder. He used to have a mischievous look about him, but because of that, the gospel became more of a surprise to me, helping me better remember certain parts he taught us.
- My school teachers. It's their job to teach, but those who go the extra mile change my life every day. They either awe me with the effort they put forth to help their students, or give me some better understanding because they have put the work into it.
- A piano in my home and the skill to be able to play it. Its music saved me.
- The green trees and grass that comes in the spring and summer.
- The warmth of the sun on my skin.
- The beautiful lively colors the Lord as given us in the form of flowers.
- Birds chirping.
- Walks through trees after a summer afternoon rain shower.
- Bike rides with a warm wind whipping my hair back.
- A roof to keep out the cold and keep in the warm....or keep out the warm and keep in the cold. Depends.
- My acceptance to BYU. I still think it was a miracle.
- That Laurel is going to China. (and not because I get her car....for the most part). But because she is going to have the time of her life and will be able to step into some of the beautiful landscapes the Lord has painted and learn so much more.
- Prophets and their guiding words. I would have a very different life were it not for modern day prophets...I may not even be here.
- The peace that accompanies living the gospel.
- The love Heavenly Father so readily shows me. Today is was through simple rays of light coming through the chapel windows at just the right time.
- The Book of Mormon and those who explain what significance it has, helping me better understand the words of the prophets of old.
- Cell Phones. They are really helpful when you've locked your keys in your car.
- Pens and pencils. They are so great to have around. When I can't find one I get extremely frustrated because I can't write anything down!
- Bus rides home. I get to hear how other people think and then learn to accept them for who they are.
- My grandparents. They are always so willing to open their arms and let me know they love me and support me.
- My aunts and uncles. Each one definitely adds their own spark to my life.
- My cousins. There are quite a few, but laughing with them is priceless.
- Young Women leaders. They put such a huge chunk of their lives toward helping me and the other young women. And not just for church stuff, but if I need help on homework or something, I know I can call them up (on the cell phone I'm grateful for :) ) and they'll help me.
- A friend who is quite passionate, loving, and a bit distracted at times.
- A friend who can be the sensible one at times, but certainly knows how to have fun.
- A friend who will always be open for talking about whatever. Who will cry with me and laugh with me.
- A friend who has a passion and won't let anything get in her way.
- A friend who tires very hard, needs a little nudge sometimes, but still laughs and loves.
:) Thank you Amelia for that. I love that we are friends. You are fabulous. And super talented. I am so impressed with how willing you are to except piano request after another when you very understandably could turn them down. You sounded sooo good today. I love your talent. I love you!
