People: Put on the earth to entertain each other.

I'm in a family processes class and today we heard some great stories about how people begin relationships that eventually turn into marriage. Let me tell you....people can be crazy, unique, and creative yet successful. Example? One girl shared a story about her roommate who told them she came to BYU for the sole purpose of finding her husband. She knew what she was doing apparently because she had at least 3 dates a week and is now married. Before she found her "one and only" she would dress nicely but causally, go sit in the Cougareat food court, read an intelligent looking book and have something to eat while sitting toward everyone. This showed passerbys that she could take care of herself since she was eating and was nicely dressed, that she was open to conversation, and that she was still smart. Once you do this, boys will just come up to you and ask you on dates. And it worked for her because she's married now. Mission accompl...

Glory Glory Hallelujah!

Today was MarVelOus. *sigh* :D It started off pretty rough due to an icky headache and almost sleeping through my Book of Mormon class. Thankfully Morgan woke me up 20 minutes before class and I was able to run over there in 15. So classes were slow, but I got 10/10 on my student development quiz! That made me happy. And little bits of joy just sort of keep falling in my way for the rest of my day! At work I was at Terriaki Stix (I got a job at the Cougareat working at Subway, Terriaki Stix, and as a host) and I decided to clock in at 11:20 instead of 11:30 (nobody cares). Two minutes after I was in the store the fire alarm went off and everyone had to evacuate the Wilkinson Center. NOT OKAY. But funny. Why? Well, because it was snowing and we all had our short sleeve T-shirt uniforms on. So we ended up standing outside for 10 minutes and by the time we got back in it was 11:28....if only I had clocked in at 11:30. Oh well! I had a good laugh and then was SO happy to be bac...

Emily won us some snickers

Today at our hall meeting we got lots of snickers candy bars because 6 (plus or minus a few) girls including one of my roommates, Emily, won a "Quiz Bowl" Heritage Halls held. The snickers were passed around then back to the front, then around again, then back to the front, then around AGAIN....I probably ate around 20 bite size snicker bars tonight...uhg. But, they allowed for a fun time after ward prayer tonight....hehe. We have all come back from ward prayer, I start taking my nail polish off, and 4 snickers sit on my desk from the hall meeting an hour earlier. Morgan and I are just talking and then she takes one of my snicker bars. I don't care, I want them eaten, but I like to be dramatic sometimes. *gasp* "Morgan! That's my snickers! How could you?" She slowly opens it and starts walking out of the room. "No!! You can't!" She then closes the door and I rip it open and run after her as she dashes down the hallway. With my arms flailin...

Changed it!

Mechanical Engineering is for sissies. ;) I want to research and understand families. Their inner workings. Why they do certain things, which actions are more likely to produce certain outcomes, how families interacts changes the behavior of an individual, etc. In my Intro to Family Processes class during the first class I got extremely excited for what I was going to learn! And then I decided to take Intro to the School of Family Life (1 measly credit) and when our teacher (who happens to be the Department Chair) was talking, I got even more excited. I think I've finally settled into something I'll really enjoy. I was close the first time (and only time) I declared my major as Family and Consumer Science Education, but that was more for becoming a teacher. With the Marriage, Family, and Human Development major (I'm not sure what it's called....oops. I still have a little research to do. :) ), I would be immersed in learning all about families and how people d...
