What think ye of this?


Here's what I think:  I must be an introvert....with bits of extroversion as well- aT ThE SaMe tIMe!

Most people are probably a mix of both according to these descriptions, which of course makes knowing how to care for each person as an individual even more puzzling.

What a day, what a day to take to.....everything!

One two three four, tell me that you love me more.....five six nine or ten..... That is what I sing when I need to step back and breathe. Like when people tell you to count to ten before you say anything else so you can think about what may have almost come out of your mouth. Well, I like to sing, so I sing that instead. Today there were plenty of opportunities to sing that song. But I didn't because those happenings deserved laughter instead. :) Today I cooked my dinners for the rest of the week and am so excited to eat deliciousness all week!! But with that excitement came a whole lot of mess and burning things. I burned 1/2 my bacon and 1 batch of candied almonds.... :( I had a fabulous time picking out the burnt bacon though as well as chopping and mixing another batch of almonds which then brought me great pride when I took them out of the oven not 3 seconds too soon. So.....I had the chance to retake the Calculus test I didn't do so hot on. Before I tell you the out come I must inform you that there is this rule that says if you retake a Calculus test the highest score you can get is 70%. Anything below 70% stays at that score, but anything above 70% goes down to a 70%. So, I'm taking the test with a nervous mindset, but I studied a little bit before hand and I was making sure to have an answer that made some kind of sense before filling in a bubble. If I do the problem and don't get an answer that was a choice (this test was all multiple choice as opposed to 1/2 multiple choice, 1/2 free response on the original test) I then work backward with all the given answers. One of the problems wasn't working out forward or backward so I chose the answer that looked the most similar to an answer I got. ANYWAY! Doing it because you have to turns into doing it because you love it.

That's how I feel about teaching piano for the past 5 or 6 months. I started out doing it because I thought it would be a good way to get a little extra cash. I wasn't too excited about it and I wasn't really wanting to all that much. But as my students and I had fun times, frustrating times, smiles, tears, I feel in love with teaching. My piano teacher was saying how she loves teaching so much during one of my lessons with her and I was confused as to why anyone would love teaching piano.....but here I am, not wanting to leave my students. I don't want to give them to somebody else to teach. I know the way they learn, what works for them, and how they pay attention better than any other piano teacher out there. I feel selfish, but I don't want another teacher to gain their trust or smiles. Maybe I can drive up to Salt Lake on Saturdays.....just kidding. If only that could really happen.
