Play-by-play

I said a BOOM-chica-BOOM, I said a BOOM-chica-BOOM!  I said a-BOOM-A-CHICA-ROCK-A-CHICA-ROCK-A-CHICA-BOOM!

*you may now imagine me dancing in my kitchen*

Today was a good day in many ways.  Although I was unproductive to a frighteningly high extent, it was a relaxing day and I'm not too stressed about it since I've got Monday to get stuff done considering there aren't any classes because our nation is wonderful and celebrates our Presidents.

I went to the temple this morning at 5:30 with Ryan and Dale, thinking we'd make the 6:00 session, and then we get there and are told the session starts at 7:00....so we wait for an hour and a half and then do initiatories so we could get back in time for breakfast at 8:30 with my roommates and John Anderson (an old FHE brother who came down from Idaho today.  Haven't seen him since June or July!)!!  We were all very excited to see him.

One thing I learned today:  To-do lists are not important sometimes.  Sometimes they are VERY important, but today my to-do list was quite unimportant.  (What is wrong with Amelia?!?!)  Indeed, I did make one for today and got quite frustrated when only one thing on my list was accomplished, but, I did have a relaxing day with many laughs, fabulous conversation, 3 loads of dishes, and engaging company.  I didn't even do my hair today, guys.

My roommate asked me if I wanted to watch a movie with her once I had whined about how bored I was, but I whined a response back to her saying, "I can't....I'll feel so guilty because I have so many things I need to get done!" And then promptly did not move from my kitchen table for three more minutes.

Pathetic.

Not really!

In those three minutes I decided, "Today is a day for chilling out."  I then got up, told my roommate I was going to go buy some stuff at the Bookstore and when I came back we could start a movie.  And that's exactly what happened. :)  We fell asleep for about half of the 2 1/2 hour long movie.....

Pathetic.

Actually, not really!

I got about 5 hours of sleep last night and normally I function on 7 or 8.  Why?  Because I made cinnamon rolls for breakfast and went to the temple at 5:30 am and began breakfast a bit after 9:00 am....where do cinnamon rolls fit in there?  They fit in before 5:30.  So staying awake for even half of that movie was pretty good, I thought.

And then the movie ended and I didn't know what to do with  myself.  I could go clean my room.  I could get a head start on my engineering homework for next week.  I could memorize some Spanish vocabulary.  I could make some crazy awesome calendar/schedule thingy....  Nope!  How about Sarah and I sit on the couch some more laughing at how we have no motivation to do anything!  YES!!

Pathetic.

Believe it or not, I would disagree.

Because then I decided to find some music to play.  And I did.  :)

John and Ryan came in shortly after I began playing the piano and stuck around for a little bit and then Ryan left to go see Phantom of the Opera and John stuck around to visit with us.  That lead to Me, Rachel, Sarah, and John making dinner together and eating a most scrumptious meal.

NOT Pathetic.

Agreed!

Having outside visitors somehow gives me more energy.  We weren't planning on making dinner, but we did because John stayed and man, oh, man, did we cook up some delicious chicken!  So I'm very grateful he stayed around so I could feel somewhat productive and successful.

Dinner ended and we did the dishes and then John and I talked for a bit, then he had to start heading back to Idaho so he left and I then watched another movie with my roommate, Audrey.  I stayed awake, somehow, miraculously.  But I loved it. :)

And now I'm writing this blog post. If you've gotten to the end of this, I commend you.  I personally, probably won't read it again, but it's a good reminder of the wonderful people I interacted with today.  :)

And now I think I'll go to bed, thank you very much!
