We were watching Swan Lake done by Chinese Acrobats and the following dialogue takes place, the subject being the Swan Princess.

Ruby: I'd be so amazed if that were my daughter
Georgia: I'd be so amazed if that were me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mom: How many kids are you going to have?
Ruby: I'm thinking 2 or 3....cuz I don't wanna go pickin' them up after school!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We'd just been having scripture study and talking about Saul. Mom did not hear what Lydia asked Ruby as she was engaged in her own conversation with Dad, but right after Lydia asked Ruby, Mom said this.

Lydia (to Ruby): Why do you have one shoe on?
Mother: ....mental illness.....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lydia: We are having blonde brownies.
Ruby: Well, I don't like those.
Lydia: Are you sure? Maybe you aren't remembering correctly.
Ruby: Maybe you aren't remembering correctly that I just said I don't like those!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ruby: Lydia shouldn't drive! It's dangerous!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lydia: You have no manners!
Ruby: Yes I do! I have 55 manners!.......More than 55. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dad (to me): What do you want for dinner?
Me: I don't know.
Dad: Hashbrowns?
Me: Sure.
Dad: What should we have with them?
Ruby (off to the side): Ketchup!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ruby: You should do some fun things right now because after you die you can't do as many fun things as when you are alive.

Here is something from scripture study on the morning of 6/8/10, said by our little cousin Noelle, who was staying with us for a few days.

Someone reads 1 Sameul 16:7 "But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart."

So now Dad is discussing how we can see what someone's heart looks like.
Dad: Can we open up their skin and see inside their body to look at their heart?
Everyone just sort of stares at him....
Dad: What about Noelle's heart? Can we open up her skin and see it?
Noelle then pops up after not listening since she heard her name.
Dad: Can we see your heart Noelle?
Noelle: No.
Dad: Well, then how can we see people's hearts?
Noelle (after a pause and much contemplation): An X-ray! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Julia: But you hate water!
Morgan: I like lakes.....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
THIS IS NOT SERIOUS....just in case you were wondering.
Lydia: So remember children, if you're ever very hungry, don't eat Mom.
Mom: Oh! Well, if I'm already dead, you can eat me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Me: Are you going to get your wisdom teeth out any time soon?
Laurel: Probably when I'm 40 like dad.
Me: And then you'll be whining about it on your daughter's 16th birthday.
Laurel: No....because I'm a woman. That's what men do. That is why they don't have babies.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Julia: did anything good happen tomorrow?
Me: uh.......check your tenses dear.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mabel: I want my kids to be British....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Georgia (talking about a yard we were weeding): This grass isn't as comfy as ours.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We were reading a bunch of quotes off of a quote calander and Julia was getting tired of all the quotes about flowers.

Julia: What's with people talking about flowers? Just because they need growth and cultivation....humans need growth and cultivation!
slight pause
Julia: Wait....that's not what I meant.
Everyone bursts out laughing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Julia (reading a quote): "I'm here to out live you"......what?....oh! Haha....never mind. "I'm here to live out loud."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
