Prepared for life? Good joke.
Last week was rather exciting because I signed a contract for housing during Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter semesters. I'm stayin' here in Provo probably until next Spring/Summer 2012 because I just want to keep going! I have a job that I should keep through the summer so I can keep getting money to pay for food. Kind of important, no?
I also learned how to drive a stick-shift car that has a sticky clutch! My cousin left on his mission last week and his car needed a master, so my aunt gave it to me and Laurel. My uncle graciously spent about 3 hours teaching us how to drive it. I haven't driven it anywhere since then because I've had no reason to, but I do need to keep practicing if I'm going to become efficient with that car. It's a valuable skill to know!
Also! I've registered for spring and summer classes! This spring I'll be taking 2 classes: Human Development and Greek&Roman Mythology. Human Development is for my Family Life major, and Greek & Roman Mythology is a GE....it will be fun....right? The classes need to suck all focus out of a person because they are all an hour and a half. Whoop-di-do. Thankfully there are only two though. And I've heard spring and summer are really really fun! During summer I'm registered for Stats (for my major) and Strengthening Marriage and Family (for my major as well). If I go through spring and summer all the way to my mission, I'll have A LOT out of the way. Mi madre says that I'll get burned out, but spring and summer aren't as heavy as Fall and Winter. We'll see.
Now that I've utterly bored you up to your socks, guess what?????
Today a cold spell came through Provo, Utah. I was chilled through to the bone whenever I left my humble abode. I don't understand why the icy wind must go through my coat, through my shirt, through my skin, through my muscles, through my bones, then through my muscles, my skin, shirt, and coat in that order. I WAS COLD. For the first time I had to go through buildings to get to my classes instead of just going around them.... I think that saved my life! Just Kidding. I'm simply a whimp.
But! I have learned to wear more layers and more scarves and hats, regardless of how terrible I look.
Anyway....this was a pretty boring post. Sorry. I was kinda bored writing which means you're extremely bored reading.

Greek and Roman mythology? I'm jealous, that DOES sound like fun! And now your blog readers know what a nerd your mom is. We'll have to compare notes when I'm working on my Latin stories. Maybe a weekly phone call in which you tell me what you learned that week. :D And Human Development is fun too. So yay Spring Term!
ReplyDeleteI thought of you when I saw the class and I know how much I can use it, plus, it's a good part of the history of our world/culture...sort of. But mostly I was thinking about you when I added it. :) And I'd be more than happy to discuss the intelligent stories the Romans and Greeks made every week.
