Happy #5

Can I just say, Oh! My! Gosh!!!!!! Last night, this morning!! Ah! Great great things. J First, last night my roommates and I were just giggling, having a grand time being together after a long day, I was trying to study but my heart wasn’t really in it, I had gotten my studying done for a test I had this morning (which I think went pretty well!) Then, in the middle of our tremendous hilarity, I get a phone call from a guy I work with asking me out on a date for Friday night. Smiley face #1 --> :)

Second, I to go to bed at a reasonable hour (11:30..haha) and don’t sleep well, but whatever. I get up this morning (I actually got up! That is a miracle as of late.) and after getting ready, I noticed I had missed 2 calls from the same person within 1/2 hour when I was out of my room. I recognized the number as the lady I had a job interview with, so I get really excited. I call her back immediately and she offers me the job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND I’M IN SHOCK!!!! I’m just SO HAPPY ABOUT IT!!!

This job will bring a lot more income to me, which is such a blessing! And, it’s a wonderful job with lots of opportunity for good experience. I’m a secretary in the Department of Nutrition, Dietetics, and Food Science! Glory glory! Oh man. How fabulous. Smiley face #2 and #3 --> :) :)

AND then in even happier news…(can it get any better?)…my sister got asked to Junior Prom! And that just makes me smile even bigger. And I might be able to be there that day so I can see her in all her gorgeousness and beauty. Smiley face #4 --> :)

Another thing! (last one) One of my other sisters got through to internationals in her Future Problem Solvers of America Competition!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She’s 11 years old!!!! They discuss how to solve problems such as water quality, emergency preparedness, and stuff about genetics…..she’s in 5th grade? Yeah. She is. They will be going to Wisconsin shortly after school ends for this competition and they will win. Sí? Sí! I’m so proud of her! Smiley face #5 --> :)

So, after 5 smiley faces ( :) :) :) :) :) ) I think I have to say thank you to my Heavenly Father for so fully and graciously blessing me and my family. I feel so undeserving of the blessing I have received, but it gives me more motivation to do His will and be ready to do what He needs.

I’ll be what you want be to be dear Lord, over mountain or plain or sea! I’ll go where you want me to go dear Lord! I’ll do what you want me to do!

I hope to do well on Finals this coming week and I hope that nothing terrible happens, but whatever comes my way, I can do it with the Lord!

    Darn. I had a good comment, but accidentally did something to erase it. aw well. I basically said I am happy for you! I'm also glad to know I'm not the only one struggling with sleep. I am excited that we get to see each other fairly soon, because school is getting out! yay summer! Good luck with finals! LOVE you~

A remedy for being tossed among the billows of life

Today!  Ah ha! My car : I should take care of it, right?  And since I'm handing it off to Lydia soon it should probably be in tip top shape when she gets it.  I took it to the auto shop today just to have them check it out and see if there was anything they needed to fix.  Initially the mechanic said a diagnostic test would be $20, and then anything they find will be added to that, but they'd let me know before they did anything. "Okay! Sounds good!" and I left my baby with them. Then they call me back a bit later and tell me my clutch is having issues, but it's still drivable.  Replacing it would cost about $600.  I already knew that though, so I just said not to do anything with that.  And then they mentioned something else, but the mechanic said, "If I were you, I'd just drive the heck out of it until it breaks and then replace the broken parts or get a new car." New growth

  These plants, gifts from people dear to my heart, have witnessed everything that has happened in my apartment over the last five months.   You can see some of their leaves have turned yellow from inconsistent watering habits on my part.   About a month ago I started watering them consistently again and you can see some new, beautiful green growth because of that. Today as I stood in my kitchen with so many thoughts running running running through me I felt them encourage me a little bit as they shared some wisdom with me: Our yellow leaves are from a lack of water, yes, but you didn’t give up on us.   While we’re changed because of that period of drought, we are currently thriving and bringing forth beautiful new growth because you started watering us again.   That growth is slow and doesn’t come after a week or two of the change in watering, but it does come.   Giving us time is just as important as giving us water in those moments you feel it’s...
