Doing it because you have to turns into doing it because you love it.
That's how I feel about teaching piano for the past 5 or 6 months. I started out doing it because I thought it would be a good way to get a little extra cash. I wasn't too excited about it and I wasn't really wanting to all that much. But as my students and I had fun times, frustrating times, smiles, tears, I feel in love with teaching. My piano teacher was saying how she loves teaching so much during one of my lessons with her and I was confused as to why anyone would love teaching piano.....but here I am, not wanting to leave my students. I don't want to give them to somebody else to teach. I know the way they learn, what works for them, and how they pay attention better than any other piano teacher out there. I feel selfish, but I don't want another teacher to gain their trust or smiles. Maybe I can drive up to Salt Lake on Saturdays.....just kidding. If only that could really happen. I love them very much. And I never thought that would happen when I accepted the request to teach two little girls. The part I love most is when they get excited because they understand something a little better. They're teaching themselves just as much as I'm teaching them, if not more, and I want them to have a teacher that will keep on doing that. I know I can do that, so I want to stay so I'll know they'll have that.
I found these online and they all remind me of my students in some way.
This perfectly positioned hand is what a lot of my students have trouble with. I try to focus a lot on their hands and the positioning of each individual finger.
This shows how children have a hard time focusing sometimes...haha. :) One of my students has a hard time hearing what I'm saying and doing what I ask when anyone else is in the room or any other noise is sounding around her.

All this from the girl who never wanted to teach anyone anything! I love it. :D
